Human Resources Advisor

Overview
Degree 53 are an award-winning digital agency based in Manchester that specialises in the betting and gaming sector. 
Due to continued success and growth, we are looking for a Human Resources Advisor to join our journey. You will work alongside the Group HR Manager to support and deliver the Human Resource function for the business.

You will be responsible for maintaining a strong, positive and high performing workforce. Alongside supporting the Office Assistant to make sure that the Degree 53 office is a happy and productive environment. 

You must be highly organised, innovative and not afraid to challenge when needed. Being empathetic and confidential goes without saying, but you know this already….

Your responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for all HR related queries on a day to day basis
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are up to date and legally compliant.
  • Assist line managers in understanding and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Work with the Group HR Manager to refine and convey company strategy, vision and goals.
  • Preparing staff handbooks and new starter packs, reference checking and overseeing on-boarding process for new starters.
  • Collating payroll information, advising on pay and other remuneration issues including pensions, sickness, promotions and benefits.
  • Managing the payroll software and implementing any changes needed
  • Interpreting and advising on employment law.
  • Maintaining employee records and managing the full employee lifecycle.
  • Delivering HR induction training for new starters.
  • Conduct training needs analysis and implement a training plan with input from business heads.
  • Recruiting of staff including developing job descriptions, preparing job adverts and liaising with candidates and agencies to arrange interviews.
  • Owning and maintaining the applicant tracking system.
  • Managing sickness & absence including completing return to work interviews
  • Assisting with the general office management and event planning.

Your position

You will report into the Group HR Manager but develop and manage the Human Resource function for Degree 53 on a day to day basis.

Who we’re looking for…

  • 2 years experience in a HR Advisory Role
  • CIPD qualified 
  • Strong leadership qualities and the application of good commercial skills. 
  • Be prepared to challenge and question all levels where appropriate.
  • Experience in pioneering a recruitment service delivery model which will provide people for the business with the right skills, in the right place at the right time, enabling the Organisation to respond quickly to changing demand.
  • Ability to identify, develop, engage, deploy and retain talented employees.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to operate effectively at every level of the organisation.
  • Hands on team player
