Degree 53 were able to respond quickly to our need to update the Gogglebooth app making it easier and more fun for shoppers to use. They worked closely with us to determine what the best mechanic would be and were also able to refresh the existing app, giving it a new aesthetic and improving its functionality. We were delighted with the end result and were very impressed with their ability to turn the project around in such a tight timeframe.

The Project

Sofaworks, the prominent sofa retailer are proud sponsors of Gogglebox, Channel 4’s BAFTA Award winning reality television programme.

As part of the sponsorship activation Sofaworks toured their stores throughout the UK with their Gogglebooth, testing the nation on their Gogglebox knowledge and giving them the opportunity to win some famous Neal the Sloth goodies.

Once in the Gogglebooth people were able to engage with an app linked to a TV screen and play the Gogglebox quiz. 

When Sofaworks approached Degree 53 they were looking for an Instant Win solution to increase engagement from the participants, taking the app to a new level.

The Solution

The solution needed to be simple and designed and built into the native iOS iPad app in a matter of weeks in line with the new series of Gogglebox which started in September 2015.

Working with Sofaworks we held a brainstorming workshop and arrived at a simple but fun three wheel slot machine mechanic that would give users the opportunity to play and win Neal the Sloth goodies.
